Dick Faris - SVP, Primavera Global Business Unit
Dick Faris was one of the founder member of Primavera Systems, Inc. in 1983 when he took an IBM Mainframe project management tool and converted it to run on the then brand-new IBM PC, and named it Primavera Project Planner, or P3 for short. Dick was always to be responsible for the technical side of the product, and at the time of the sale of Primavera in 2007, Dick was CTO. From 2000 onwards, under Dick's technical control, Primavera systems introduced the Primavera Enterprise product to that was eventually to replace P3. Later developments saw the introduction of a web-based version of P6. Upon the sale of Primavera to Oracle Corp effective early 2009, Dick became Senior Vice President - Products, in Oracle's Primavera Global Business Unit.

Suzanne Gaunt - Marketing Manager, UK Oracle User Group
Suzanne Gaunt is the Marketing Manager for UK Oracle User Group (UKOUG). Suzanne joined UKOUG 3 years ago is responsible for developing and marketing the UKOUG's products and services and integrating Oracle acquisitions into the user group. Suzanne holds a 1st class honours degree in International Business Management and is a chartered marketer. Phil Budden - Primavera Deployment Manager, Costain Ltd
Phil Budden is a Chartered Civil Engineer, starting his career with 13 years Civil Engineering site management experience. In the 1990s Phil specialised in project planning, winning the 1997 CIOB IT Manager of the Year award for selection and deployment of Primavera as the standard planning package in Costain Civil Engineering. After gaining an MSc in Construction IT in 1998, he spent 8 years working in Business Systems before returning to planning in 2007, since when he has led development and deployment of P5 and then P6 as the Enterprise Project Management solution for Costain Ltd.

Mark Paulding - Planning Manager, Costain, Ltd
Mark Paulding is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 20 years Civil Engineering site management experience.  Mark began his career with Mowlem where he progressed to Senior Agent before specialising in the planning of major projects.  He joined Costain in 2005 to undertake the challenging role of Planning Manager on the £160m A2 A282 / M25 ECI project, moving on to work on Flow's bid for the M25 DBFO project. He is now Planning Manager for major reconstruction works at Farringdon Station on the Thames Link project. Mark has had a diverse range of major civils experience at a senior level, ranging from highways, structures, marine works, rail bridge demolition and replacement to the construction of an IAAF standard running track.

Andrew Godfrey - Head of Sales, Milestone UK Project Management Solutions
Andrew Godfrey is currently the Head of Sales at Milestone UK, where he has worked in a sales capacity for nearly 8 years.  In addition to his day to day responsibilities he is involved with the Best Practice User Group (BPUG), working as a Director.  This role has included a number of duties such as representing BPUG on the Project Board for the Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O) project which is the latest guidance from the Office of Government & Commerce (OGC).  This has provided valuable insight into the challenges faced by organisations when trying to implement best practice, especially in relation to the use of technology.

Julian Chatwin - EMEA Regional Sales Manager, Oracle AutoVue Julian Chatwin has been with AutoVue for 4 years including responsibility for developing sales across Europe, Middle East and Australasia. Strengthening Partner relationships and developing new market penetration has been of primary importance. Dr Mark White - The The Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL)
Dr Mark White is a biochemist by profession with over 20 years of laboratory research experience on topics ranging from long-term blood storage to occupational exposure to toxic elements. In 2000 Mark joined the HSE’s Research Strategy Unit, a Unit responsible for developing HSE's Science Strategy and managing its large Science and Technology budget. In the last 2 years Mark has been a member of the core team of the Improving Project Management Programme within HSL, taking particular responsibility for workstreams on process and project management tools, particularly the implementation and roll-out of Primavera across the Laboratory.

Bringing Project Management best practice to HSL. The Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) is an 'in house' Agency of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and applies its scientific expertise to help create a safer, healthier and productive workforce. Today, the scope of work is unparalleled and ever-widening. Richard Flanders - Head of Central Programme Management Office, London Underground, TfL
Richard Flanders is currently Head of the Central Programme Management Office in London Underground, part of Transport for London which is under the Mayor of London. Richard has a Finance background, after leaving University he spent 6 years with Grant Thornton Chartered Accountants before moving to Thomson Publishing where he was responsible for group financial information and the implementation of a financial consolidation system. Richard has been with the Underground for 18 years where he has held various roles including the implementation of a budgeting and planning system. For the past 5 years he has been involved in project control and his current role includes running the various project systems including Oracle Primavera and Oracle Portfolio Management. London Underground has annual investment spend of over £1bn. It has around 1000 active projects which are controlled and reported on non integrated ERP (SAP) and Project Management System (Primavera). This meant that although there was a significant amount of data available, information on schedules and finances were held separately whilst other information such as gateway histories and benefits were held off line. Oracle Portfolio Management was acquired and developed to remove the classic problems of “can't see the wood for the trees,” several different versions of the truth and hours spent recreating information.

William is an Executive Consultant within LSC Group Ltd, a management consultancy part of Babcock International Group plc. With core expertise in project risk management, he has provided consultancy support across Oil & Gas, Energy, Construction, Civil Nuclear and Defence domains to some of the world's largest companies and programmes, often in particularly sensitive environments. He has used PertMaster extensively during these engagements and as such has supported many diverse Oracle and Primavera clients. Gaining Clarity in Complex Programmes - Enabling better decisions through Primavera Risk Analysis. The pace of change within modern programmes creates a demanding environment in which to make timely, confident decisions. Important choices are often made with limited appreciation of the programme schedule. Taking experiences from part of the Strategic Nuclear Deterrent Programme, one of the UK's most complex programmes, this presentation highlights how Primavera Risk Analysis has been successfully incorporated into the risk process to undertake Timescale Risk Analysis (TRA) that addresses the programme's requirements for timely analysis, justified decision-making and cross-industry collaboration. The presentation also discusses the sources of uncertainty inherent within these processes and how the tool addressed these.

Reducing Cost and Schedule Overruns through Project Metric Analysis - A Case Study on the World Trade Center Rebuild Project. Based on a case study (World Trade Center Rebuild project, New York), this presentation discusses how metric analysis can be used to reduce cost and schedule overruns. The presentation details a new, yet proven technique for analyzing and visualizing scheduling flaws and more importantly, pinpoints how they can be addressed. Metrics and associated thresholds (or tripwires) are applied to organized groupings of activities enabling analysis that is not possible in traditional scheduling tools.  The net result being a more realistic schedule, reduced risk exposure and a higher confidence level of success. The approach was recently adopted in the World Trade Center Rebuild Arbitration hearings which resulted in there being a successful reconciliation and path forward between the owner and contractor of the project. Having a previously unseen insight into problematic areas in the project as well as pinpointing disciplines and specific locations enabled both parties to agree on resolution and continued construction. This presentation illustrates the use of these schedule, cost, risk and performance metrics through Acumen Fuse, a metrics analysis tool that integrates with Primavera P6 and Primavera Risk Analysis.

Krista Lambert - Senior Product Manager, Oracle
Krista Lambert is a Senior Product Manager for Oracle responsible for Primavera's Contract Management solution. She is focused on the Engineering and Construction industry including development and marketing of products for contract management. With over 22 years of product and industry experience, 14 of those years spent at Primavera, previous roles at Primavera include project manager, implementation consultant and trainer. She has implemented several projects using the NEC standard form of contract and Primavera Contract Management.

Darren joined Shell in The Netherlands in January 2008, to help deliver the Primavera Global Roll Out Project. Initially an IT driven project since 2007, it became a business change management project following the governance handover of it to Project Services in 2008. The project manager, Charlie West handed the reigns over to him in Dec 2008, to continue the development of Primavera application from a business perspective and progress the remaining roll out in Shell. Earlier in life he was a construction planning engineer, with a commercial and industrial M&E background. More recently he has been involved in programme management, project controls and application configuration architect roles. Darren has been using Primavera applications since 1993.

Max has five years of project control experience in planning and scheduling of the onshore engineering, construction and commissioning projects for the oil and gas industry. Tony joined Primavera Systems Inc. in February 1996 as a technical support engineer.  Over the following years he took up various roles at Primavera including heading up the team of Solution Architects for the international division, and later as Senior Product Manager in the Product Strategy team, working on the future development strategy of the P6 product.
